I'm Brian.

I'm a reporter in Washington, D.C., focusing on defense, national security, and military aviation. Currently, I am the Pentagon Editor at Air Force Magazine, focusing on the five-sided building across the Potomac and air operations across the globe. Previously, I covered the Air Force for Military Times. Before the defense beat, I covered the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and healthcare policy on Capitol Hill for Inside Washington Publishers.

Although I live in this Washington, I am a Pacific Northwesterner at heart, having been born and raised in Washington state. In the Great PNW, I wrote for The Associated Press and The (Tacoma) News Tribune. 

Outside of the beat, I'm an active runner training for my sixth marathon. I proudly root for the Seahawks in the winter, and screaming at my Mariners in the summer. I’m a dachshund dad, with my mini sausage Dwight by my side.
